Four Kenesaw students participated in the VFW Voice of Democracy speech contest. The contest requires students to deliver a speech with a designated theme. This year’s theme was “What are the greatest attributes of our Democracy.” The speeches are judged by a committee of the VFW Post 5537 in Minden, commanded by Mr. Matt Cavanaugh, and the students are awarded prize money based on their finish. Those participating and winning prize money were: Kassandra K. 2nd place, Silas P. 3rd place, Levi S. 4th place, and Bridger K. 5th place. The students participated in this contest as part of the American Government class activities for Veterans’ Day and they would like to thank Mr. Cavanaugh and the VFW post 5537 for allowing us to participate.
