Last night, Governor Ricketts issued a statewide Directed Health Measure (DHM) to further make clear, and direct that schools across Nebraska will not return to a normal status in the current school year.  Instead, schools should continue to operate the remainder of the year without students in their buildings.  Thus, schools statewide are directed to operate without students in their building through May 31, 2020.  Kenesaw Public Schools will continue to educate students through online instruction, packet work, and face-to-face video conferences as well as other instructional strategies deemed appropriate by teachers and administration.  The seniors last day of school is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12th, and K-11 students last day will be Friday, May 15th.  These days are subject to change depending upon the COVID-19 Pandemic.
A communication regarding Prom and Graduation is currently being prepared by Mr. Richardson and will be posted soon.  Please know that we will continue to make plans to have both Prom and Graduation.  We will be looking at the months of June and July to hold these two very important school activities.  Without knowing how COVID-19 will progress in our state and specifically our community, it makes it very difficult to set dates for these activities.  You have our word that we will do our very best.  Like always, please call the school if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Rick Masters – Superintendent
*All remaining NSAA activity practices and competitions, including district and state competitions, have been canceled for this school year. These cancelations are part of a new Directed Health Measure issued by Governor Ricketts.
