🎨 Art I–III – Paper Self-Portraits
Students created self-portraits using paper. They added layers and different values of paper to create texture and dimension, especially in their hair. Some students also added jewels to personalize their artwork.

🌟 1st Grade – Self-Portraits & Role Models
Students created self-portraits using colored paper and markers. They then drew a favorite superhero, princess, or role model and designed a background that represented themselves or helped their character stand out.

🖌️ 8th Grade – Basquiat-Inspired Artwork
Students studied Puerto Rican/Haitian American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat and created abstract artwork inspired by his style. Using a dice activity for inspiration, students incorporated paint, crayons, and colored pencils into their pieces. This project was created in preparation for Hispanic Heritage Month.

🌈 6th Grade – Color Wheel Characters
Students created a color wheel featuring characters that represented each color. They then used different values of that single color to shade, add details, and bring their characters to life.
