Purpose – This plan is provided to inform the community, students, and staff of Kenesaw Public Schools, as well as opposing teams and communities, of the requirements and guidelines of Kenesaw Public Schools regarding attendance at athletic and extracurricular events during the 2020-2021 school year.

Capacity – In accordance with the latest state Directed Health Measure (DHM), capacity at indoor events is limited to 75% capacity.

Masking – Masks are highly encouraged for all guests and are REQUIRED for all guests in ticket, concession, and bathroom lines, and while in enclosed spaces (including bathrooms).

Administration from visiting teams will be responsible for monitoring their crowd/students regarding masking requirements and guest expectations.

Entrances – Each school will have their own designated entrance/exit into event facilities including the campus, gyms, and outdoor stadium. Please follow posted signs and guidance. There will be a separate gate at each entrance. All guests, teams, and coaches are required to wear face coverings in common areas and lines. All gate workers will be required to wear masks.

Concessions – Concessions will be available for visiting teams and guests in designated areas. Availability of concession stand items may be limited due to guidelines and restrictions. All guests, teams, and coaches are required to wear face coverings in common areas and lines.

Social Distancing – Fans are encouraged to social distance as much as possible. Each schools’ fans and teams will have assigned/designated areas and will not be permitted access to areas outside of those specifically assigned/designated. Fans should try their best to sit in family groups and keep six feet of distance from others.

Outside Food – There will be no outside food allowed at any Kenesaw event.
Restrooms – Home and Visitors will have designated bathrooms. Fans and guests are required to wear masks and social distance when in lines as well as while in restrooms.

Cleaning – Teams are responsible for the disinfecting of their own equipment that is brought into the building.

Locker Rooms – Locker rooms will be provided for visiting teams.

Water – Visiting teams will be provided water. All Kenesaw coaches and athletes will use their own water bottles. There is to be no sharing of bottles.

Bands – Bands from visiting schools will be allowed to perform.

Screening – KPS will screen all athletes and coaches prior to home contests and prior to leaving for any

away contests.

We ask that visiting teams, coaches, and athletes are screened for COVID-19 symptoms prior to departing home campuses and arriving at Kenesaw-hosted events. At a minimum, the following questions should be asked.

  1. Have you been in contact with someone who has Covid-19?
  2. Have you recently traveled to any places with high cases of Covid-19?
  3. Have you been outside of the country in the past 14 days?
  4. Have you been experiencing dry cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell?
  5. Have you had a fever over 100?
  6. Have you felt any of the following symptoms: Headache, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea.

**Any person(s) who answers “yes” to any of these questions should not travel with the team and should report symptoms to local health department**

Kenesaw teams and fans are required to follow all established guidelines for home contests and are expected to follow the guidelines set by the schools we visit.
