Elementary Special Education
I spent my childhood in Franklin, NE and Phillipsburg KS. I attended MidAmerica Nazarene College in Olathe, KS and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. After moving back to Nebraska, I attended UNK and completed classes for an endorsement in Special Education. My first teaching position was at Rising Star, a K-6, two-room school near the Juniata Feedyard. I taught 4th-6th grade and K-6 Music. After that, I took a teaching position at Kenesaw as a special education/ Title 1 teacher, and this 2018-2019 school year will be my 20th year at KPS.
I live near Heartwell with my husband, Chris, a farmer/rancher. My daughter, Anisha, is a third-grade teacher in Phillipsburg, KS and my son, Jozef, is currently an EMT in Phillipsburg, KS.
I enjoy working with students with diverse learning needs, coaching Quiz Bowl teams at all three levels, and coordinating the needs of our special education department. Outside of school, I enjoy reading fiction, going to movies, playing games with friends, and playing piano/keyboard with the worship team at my local church.
Employed with Kenesaw Public Schools since 1999.
