Kristen Benton
I lived most of my life in Hartland, MI. I thought I grew up on a farm and was from a small town, but moving to Nebraska has changed my definitions of farm and small town. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hartland High School in 2001, and went on to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan. This is where I developed my love of college marching band (and football); I marched 5 seasons with the Michigan Marching Band.
After a brief career in Automation Sales (cut short by the economic crisis), I returned to school to get my teaching certificate from Eastern Michigan University. After completing my teaching certificate, I returned to the engineering field and worked as a Mechanical Engineer for Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles. Finally, I found my home here in the science ‘department’ at Kenesaw, after my husband was hired by UNK. I now live in Minden with my husband, Robert, my daughter, Julia, and our two Australian Shepards, Coda and Cadenza.
Employed with Kenesaw Public Schools since 2016.
