I grew up in Dodge City, Kansas, where my parents were both teachers. My mother taught 1st grade and my father taught PE and was head football coach. I played high school football for my father and also participated in basketball and track. My high school mascot was the Red Demons so transitioning to the Blue Devils was quite easy for me.

I attended Dodge City Community College for two years and received an Associate of Arts degree and I also continued to play football. I graduated from Fort Hays State University with a degree in Business Finance and finished my football playing career.
Out of college I took a job as a bank examiner with the FDIC. A few years later, I went back to school at FHSU where I earned a business education degree. I became a business teacher and coach at Hays High School in Kansas. I then took a job as a principal in a small rural school in Kansas. After three years there, I accepted a position with Kearney Public Schools as an assistant principal. I served Kearney for fifteen years in this position before accepting the superintendent position in Kenesaw.

I have loved my first year in Kenesaw. The kids, teachers, school, and community have been outstanding.

I have been married to my wife Laura for the past 25 years. Laura is a Radiation Therapist at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. We have three children, Cody, Emilee, and Cale. I enjoy fish, hunting, training our hunting dogs, gardening and almost all sporting events.

My entire life I have been involved in education and/or agriculture, which is why Kenesaw is such a great fit for my family. I graduated from Gibbon (High School), Kearney State (Business and Economics), UNK (Business Education with a Vocational Certification), UNO (Masters in Educational Administration), and again from UNK (Educational Specialists).

After my first college degree, I worked on the family farm in the Gibbon area for 7 years. During the last couple of years, I went back to school part time to obtain my degree in Education. I actually did my student teaching in Kenesaw during the spring of 1993. I spent the next 20 teaching and coaching in Kansas, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

I returned to Kenesaw in the fall of 2013 when I was hired as the High School Principal.
Although my career in education is a very important part of my life, my number one priority is my family. Margie, my wife, and I have been married for 15 years and she is very supportive of my career advancement opportunities. We have two children, Cael and Marisa who both attend Kenesaw Public School. As a family we enjoy spending time together, attending activities that our kids are involved in, traveling, and camping.

Employed with Kenesaw Public Schools since 2013.

It is great to have the opportunity to be back in a small town. I am originally from Pilger, NE located in the northeast part of the state. I grew up on a family farm there and we still farm and hunt the ground to this day. I spent the last 8 years teaching math and science at Windy Hills Elementary in Kearney, NE. I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from UNK. I met my wife, Jennifer Karr, while attending UNK, she is originally from Hastings, NE. We have two children, Clara and Henry. Clara is 6.5 and she will be a first grader this fall. Henry is 2.5 years old. I typically like to spend time with my family doing a number of activities depending on the weather.

Employed with Kenesaw Public Schools since 2019.
