On Monday, April 27th, 2020, at 4:00 p.m., Kenesaw Public Schools will host a meeting in the school library to discuss Special Education Services and Title I Services that Kenesaw Public Schools will offer to qualifying nonpublic and home school students. The purposes of this meeting will be to provide an opportunity for district parents, parents of homeschooled children and representatives of nonpublic schools to participate in the development of a plan for providing special education services to the children ages 0-21 with disabilities who attend nonpublic schools and home schools which are located within the Kenesaw Public Schools district for the 2020-2021 school year. Parents of a homeschooled child or a child attending a nonpublic school who has been or may be identified with a disability and attend a nonpublic school within the boundaries of Kenesaw Public School are urged to attend. Concurrently, a Title I – A meeting will also be held to discuss and identify the needs of eligible nonpublic school children, residing within Kenesaw Public School district boundaries, in the areas of reading and math. Section 1120 of the No Child Left Behind Act and 200.63 of the Title I regulations require that timely and meaningful consultation occurs between the Local Education Agency and Nonpublic School Officials prior to any decisions that affect the opportunities of eligible nonpublic school children. If you have further questions pertaining to these two meetings, please contact Rick Masters at 402-752-3215.
